Ásdís Sif Gunnarsdóttir´s work explores the tension between what we consider magical versus mundane by re-contexualizing how we perceive the monotony of our everyday. Concepts of transformation, disguise, and ritual play a central theme in her performances while the use of communication technology enable an interactive discourse.
Ásdís Sif received her BFA with honors from the School of Visual Arts New York in 2000. She received her MFA in New Genres from UCLA in 2004.
